What is the difference between a stick blender with a removable and a non-removable shaft?

A mixer with a removable shaft (DMX) is easier to clean, and the same motor can also be used with whisks, a masher or a cutter bowl. A mixer with a non-removable shaft (MX) is simpler and very durable.

What is a blender blade or “hammer”?

Instead of a blade, blender models have a triangular titanium-coated stainless steel hammer that homogenises food until smooth without any risk of cuts – soups and purées come out creamy and there is no need for sieving.
